Description

I would like to ask our database specialist to optimize PostgreSQL databases both on our testing and development servers (mentat-alt and mentat-dev). Although they are not production level services, it is useful to have them optimized as well so that they do not unnecessarily slow down the host system and developers. Additionally since they are both different systems, their configuration could be incorporated into our documentation to serve as another examples for different host server configurations.

This got sidetracked to develop #4363 which has quite a performance impact, but progressing nicely. First round of configuration done, will be tested over the weekend.

How's this going? As far s I know (#4382), PQs are upgraded. Would be nice to have the result in docs (in repo) and close this.

  • Priority changed from High to Urgent

A typical pitfall surfaced here of optimization being a never-ending process. I agree that it is time to wrap this up, document the lessons learned and move on. Increasing priority (both literally and mentally).
